This behaviour is usually caused by Joomla’s Email Cloaking plugin, not the Custom Contact Info module.
Joomla’s built-in Content Email Cloaking plugin automatically converts email addresses into clickable links to help prevent spam. This happens after the module renders its output, so emails may still appear as links even when linking is disabled in the module settings.
If you want the email to display as plain text (not clickable):
- Go to System > Manage > Plugins
- Find "Content - Email Cloaking"
- Disable the plugin
Once disabled or adjusted, the module’s Link email = No setting will behave as expected.
